Rothschild & Co Foundation has launched its new strategy to 2030, marking the next chapter in its work to support young people and strengthen the systems that shape their lives.

For more than two centuries, philanthropy has been part of the Rothschild family’s identity. Across generations, they have supported people and the environment, shared knowledge, and worked to make a positive difference in society. This legacy gives us a clear responsibility to act with purpose in a changing world.

In 2021, this commitment took on a new form with the launch of R&Co4Generations, the Group’s philanthropic initiative dedicated to empowering future generations and protecting our world.

Since then, the initiative has supported purpose-led organisations developing practical, high-impact responses to social inequality and climate change.

This work is now entering a new chapter. R&Co4Generations is now the Rothschild & Co Foundation, reflecting both its growth and its closer alignment with the Group’s long-term values and ambitions.

“Five years on, our foundation is clear in its purpose and committed to supporting young people. This early progress has built strong momentum and given us the confidence to go further. We are proud to introduce our new name and brand, the Rothschild & Co Foundation, reflecting who we are today and our ambition for the future. With strong conviction and the right tools in place, we are expanding our impact and creating new opportunities for the next generation.” - Alexandre de Rothschild, Executive Chairman and President of the Rothschild & Co Foundation.

2030 Strategy

The foundation’s new strategy sharpens its focus on the challenges and opportunities facing young people in a rapidly changing world. It sets out how the foundation will work through to 2030 to help future generations develop the skills, resilience and support they need to adapt and thrive, while also strengthening the environmental and social systems on which their futures depend.

The strategy to 2030 is built around three connected priorities:

  • Young People: helping young people build future-ready skills
  • Social Impact Organisations: supporting local organisations tackling social and environmental challenges
  • Philanthropic Ecosystem: contributing to a stronger, more connected sector for change

Through these priorities, the foundation will continue to build long-term partnerships with non-profit organisations around the world, providing financial support, access to the Rothschild & Co network and opportunities for colleagues to contribute their time and expertise.

Alongside this work, the foundation will continue to support social enterprises through its Venture4Good impact investing programme, and remain able to respond to urgent humanitarian needs when communities require immediate support.

The new strategy provides a clear framework for the Foundation’s work to 2030 and reinforces its commitment to helping young people adapt and thrive in a changing world.
