You could join us as an Intern across a range of teams within the firm, including areas such as Global Advisory, Wealth Management and Five Arrows.

Each offers the opportunity to develop a broad set of skills, from accounting, valuation and modelling, to working closely with client portfolios alongside our investment and client teams.

Purpose

Internships offer you the chance to learn more about what we do and get a head-start on applying for a full-time position once you finish your studies. They're also a great way for us to start getting to know the talented people who might one day be our senior leaders. And last but not least, you will get to spend time making new friends and working with like-minded people.

Training and development

Our Internships begin with a tailored training programme, designed to equip you with the core knowledge and confidence to contribute meaningfully from the moment you join your team.

From there, your development continues through a blend of hands-on, on-the-job learning and a curated programme of learning and development sessions, complemented by access to on-demand resources through our internal platforms, ensuring a consistently high-quality and immersive experience throughout your internship.

What we look for

We recruit from a wide range of backgrounds, universities and degree disciplines — because diversity of thought drives better ideas and stronger outcomes. Our aim is to develop potential, not just hire existing knowledge and different perspectives not only enhance the quality of our work, but also create a more collaborative, dynamic and inclusive team environment. Alongside this, there are a number of key attributes we consistently look for:

What we look for

Good communication skills

We create solutions for our wide range of clients and their evolving needs. To do so, it is crucial that our colleagues possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Drive and ambition

We pride ourselves on our heritage of taking bold perspectives and never being content with convention. Our colleagues possess a strong drive to strive for more and always deliver exceptional results.

Sound judgement

Strong commercial awareness underpins sound judgement, but it must be paired with the ability to think critically. You will need to assess information thoughtfully, challenge assumptions and draw well-reasoned conclusions, grounded in an understanding of how businesses operate and why key decisions are made. In an evolving industry, this combination is essential to delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients.

Creativity

Creativity and innovation are central to how we deliver value to our clients. We look for individuals who can approach problems with fresh thinking, challenge conventional approaches and develop thoughtful, tailored solutions.

For those at the early stages of their careers, creativity comes through curiosity, asking insightful questions, making connections across different ideas and being open to new perspectives. By bringing a willingness to explore and think differently, you can add real value from the outset.

Our top tips

Refine your CV

Your CV tells us who you are before we have the chance to meet you. To make the best impression, use a template to keep formatting consistent and organised, with clear headings and bullet points to make the content easier to read. One page is ideal at the start of your career, so keep information succinct and relevant to the role you are applying for. Highlight your main achievements and don't be afraid to explain any gaps up front!

Prepare prepare prepare

A successful job interview takes preparation. Make sure you've taken the time to find out about our main business areas, core values, recent news and what makes us different from other financial institutions. Be ready to explain why Rothschild & Co appeals to you and why you think you'd be a good addition. Also, ensure that you are preparing a variety of examples of how you’ve used relevant skills in different situations, not just in your academics. Good luck!

Success at interview

Once you're in front of the interviewer, listen carefully and ask questions if you're unclear what we're asking. Give details of your experiences and specific examples of the skills we're looking for. Try to relax and ask us questions. We invited you in for a reason and can't wait to hear what you have to say.
