Internships

We offer several Internship programmes, ranging from ten weeks to six months in duration. All offer intensive on-the-job training that helps you decide whether finance – and Rothschild & Co – is right for you. The two main areas where you could be joining us as an Intern are Global Advisory and Wealth Management.

In Global Advisory, you will be picking up technical skills in accounting, valuation and modelling, as well as getting involved in internal presentations. Or apply for our Wealth Management Internship to work on client portfolios alongside our Client and Investment teams.

Purpose

Internships offer you the chance to learn more about what we do and get a head-start on applying for a full-time position once you finish your studies. They're also a great way for us to start getting to know the talented people who might one day be our senior leaders. And last but not least, you will get to spend your summer making new friends with like-minded people.

Training and development

Most of our internship programmes start with a week of training to give you the basic knowledge you need to get going as soon as you join our teams. During your placement you will also have access to unlimited learning and development (L&D) sessions, as well as on-demand learning materials through our internal portals.

What we look for

The more diverse our team, the more ideas we can bring to the table. That's why we look for and value a wide mix of people from different backgrounds, universities and degree disciplines. There are some fundamental attributes we look for, however, such as:

Good communication skills

Drive and ambition

Sound judgment

Creativity

Executional excellence

Teamwork

Being comfortable with numbers

Our top tips

Polish your CV

Your CV tells us who you are before we have the chance to meet you. To make the best impression, keep formatting simple with clear fonts and bullet points to make the content easier to read. One page is ideal; two is the maximum. Highlight your main achievements and don't be afraid to explain any gaps up front!

Prepare prepare prepare

A successful job interview takes preparation. Make sure you've taken the time to find out about our main business areas, core values, recent news and what makes us different from other financial institutions. Be ready to explain why Rothschild & Co appeals to you and why you think you'd be a good addition. Good luck!

Success at interview

Once you're in front of the interviewer, listen carefully and ask questions if you're unclear what we're asking. Give details of your experiences and specific examples of the skills we're looking for. Try to relax and ask us questions. We invited you in for a reason and can't wait to hear what you have to say.
