Global Advisory has been recognised with three "Deal of the Year" awards at the 2025 IJGlobal Investor Awards, Americas celebrating our outstanding achievements advising on two landmark cross-border transactions in the Infrastructure and Energy sectors.

The Awards

1. Transport Deal of the Year and Acquisition of the Year, Latin America 

Sole sellside advisor on US$2.5bn sale of Santos Brasil (BVMF:STBP3), the largest port operator in South America, to CMA CGM, via sale of Opportunity Fund’s 48% stake and follow-on tender offer.

  • Culmination of 3+ years of work, delivering a ~130% premium to the Santos Brasil share price before we were engaged
  •  Represents the largest port transaction to date in South America, as the leading multi-terminal operator in Brazil including Tecon Santos, the largest container terminal in South America, plus a range of other bulk/liquid bulk terminals

 

2. Joint Venture Deal of the Year, North America

Sole financial advisor to JERA on merger of its global offshore wind business with bp’s, plus shareholder capital injection of up to US$5.8bn, to form JERA Nex bp, one of the world’s largest offshore wind platforms.

  • Highly strategic consolidation between two major energy players to form a >$10bn EV platform, one of the largest ever renewables mergers
  • New JERA Nex bp JV incorporates a combined JERA / bp management team overseeing a 13GW portfolio of 20 operating and development assets in 9 countries across Europe, Asia and North America
