Rothschild & Co hires Joelle Tarrant and Luke Hedley

Rothschild & Co is pleased to announce that Joelle Tarrant is to join the firm as Head of Market Structure and Strategy, and Luke Hedley as a Sales Trader, effective immediately. They will be based in London.

These senior hires will form part of the firm’s Global Markets Solutions (GMS) business – Rothschild & Co’s platform for integrated equity capital solutions, combining public and private expertise to deliver flexible, research-driven financing strategies – a structure that can best serve our clients in a world where global sector knowledge and access to public and private capital are a requirement for growth.

Joelle Tarrant is highly regarded in the industry having most recently served as a Managing Director and Global Co-Head of Cross Asset Electronic Sales at HSBC. She is a recognised thought leader in market structure, having previously founded and led HSBC’s Global Market Structure team. Prior to that, she was Head of Market Structure at RBC.

Luke Hedley has worked across equities sales trading for more than 13 years, covering both long only and hedge funds. He was previously an Equity Sales Trader at Investec. Prior to this, Luke spent a decade at Numis Securities as a Sales Trader.

“We are delighted at the arrival of these two high quality individuals. Joelle is well-known in the City for her expertise in Market Structure and she will help us continue to add clients – something that has been a major theme for us since Redburn Atlantic became part of Rothschild & Co. Luke is a hugely experienced addition to an already well-regarded team – known for their ability to source block liquidity for clients and help them navigate – and understand – ever more complex markets. We continue to invest in the Equities Execution business and to see significant growth,” said Andrew Quick, Global Head of Execution for Rothschild & Co.

Joelle Tarrant said: “Rothschild & Co has a long and proud tradition of providing market-leading, independent advice to its global clients. I am delighted to be joining the firm and look forward to navigating market strategy and execution sales across all client bases.”

Luke Hedley said: “I am thrilled to join Rothschild & Co, which for more than 200 years has provided its clients with unparalleled capabilities and perspective. Rothschild & Co is one of the world’s leading advisory firms, and I am honoured to be joining the firm.”
