Rothschild Global Advisory: Rothschild & Co hires Mike Ostow, Jonathan Herbst and Raj Dayalan as Managing Directors in the US

Continues expansion of its North American advisory business with addition of Managing Directors in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles
Rothschild Global Advisory today announced that Mike Ostow, Jonathan Herbst and Raj Dayalan will join its North American business as Managing Directors, further strengthening the firm's growing presence in the region. Mr. Ostow, based in New York, has been named Head of Financial Institutions, North America which he will further build out. Mr. Herbst, based in Chicago, will be Head of the North American Media and Telecommunications team. Mr. Dayalan joins the firm in Los Angeles.

Mr. Ostow joins the firm from UBS, where he was Americas Co-Head of its Financial Institutions Group. He has been with UBS since 2010. Previously, he has held senior roles at Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley. Mr. Ostow has worked across all subsectors of the financial industry and has advised a wide variety of leading global insurance companies and sponsors. Mr. Ostow holds a BS from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Mr. Ostow stated, “I look forward to working with the Rothschild & Co team to utilise the firm's established global financial institutions advisory platform to build the business in North America.”
Mr. Herbst joins Rothschild Global Advisory from UBS where he was a senior member of the Global Technology, Media and Telecommunications Group for more than 17 years. While at UBS, Mr. Herbst led the firm's telecom practice in the Americas and has advised on transactions across a wide range of industry subsectors, including telecom service providers, telecom infrastructure and tech-enabled telecom services. Mr. Herbst holds a BA from Bowdoin College and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Mr. Herbst stated, “Rothschild & Co's media and telecommunications advisory practice is well-respected, both in North America and around the world, and I am excited to now lead the group in this market while also working with Eric Hirschfield to expand Rothschild Global Advisory's presence in the Midwest region and further leverage the firm's global presence.”
Mr. Dayalan joins Rothschild Global Advisory from Houlihan Lokey, where he was a senior member of the Technology, Media & Telecom Group, heading its Marketing Technology practice. Prior to Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Dayalan was an Executive Director at UBS, serving as Co-Head of Internet Investment Banking. At both Houlihan Lokey and UBS, he led transactions for leading technology, media and payments companies and related financial sponsors. Earlier in his career, Mr. Dayalan was a member of Deutsche Bank's Technology Group and Salomon Brothers' Media & Telecom practice. Mr. Dayalan holds a B.A. from the University of California, Irvine, and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Over the past two years, Rothschild & Co has taken significant steps in strengthening and expanding its presence in North America. The firm recently hired Sumner Farren and Sara Coyle as Managing Directors in its Chicago office, focused on Industrials. Last year, Rothschild & Co announced that Chris Gaertner joined the firm as Global Head of Technology and to lead the firm's office in Silicon Valley. Rothschild & Co also added Walid Khiari as a Managing Director on the Technology team, Reza Vahabzadeh and Siddharth Hariharan as Managing Directors on the Consumer team, and Aashis Mehta and Timothy Hotchandani as Managing Directors on the Healthcare team, all in the past 18 months.
