Ananya's story

In 2015, Ananya joined Rothschild & Co’s Global Advisory office in London. After starting in our Debt Advisory & Restructuring team, Ananya moved to the Energy & Power team in 2018 for three years.

Given his experience across our Debt Advisory and Energy & Power teams, Ananya is now Co-Head of the Energy & Power Financing team at Rothschild & Co.

"I think one of the really important things, if I was transporting myself back ten years, would be when you look up, can you see yourself doing the job of multiple people above you?

I think at Rothschild & Co we have the benefit of a number of Heads and Co-Heads of businesses having started here when they were Graduates or having built a career here. For me, that's a huge factor of comfort that people I respect, admire, want to emulate, have chosen to build their career at a place like Rothschild & Co.

I think when you're junior and starting out, you always want to be looking up and saying, 'Can I see myself doing one of these roles and do I respect these people and the choices that they have made?'

That for me was an absolute yes.

The other thing you should think about is what are the opportunities that the firm can give you?
