Rothschild & Co is pleased to announce that Naina Lal Kidwai has joined as a Senior Adviser and a member of the Board of Rothschild & Co India. In her role she will assist in advising Rothschild & Co on its strategic ambitions, with a focus on helping drive growth in the region.
Ms Kidwai brings extensive industry experience, both within the region and globally. She will work closely with Rothschild & Co’s Global Advisory teams in India and around the world to enhance the firm’s presence and expand its impartial, expert advisory and execution services in South Asia.
Ms Kidwai has a deep understanding of the Indian market environment, having previously served as Chairman of HSBC India and Executive Director on the board of HSBC Asia Pacific, Vice Chairman and Head of Investment Banking at JM Morgan Stanley, and as President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. She has been awarded the “Padma Shri” by the Government of India for her contribution to trade and industry.

Additional background on Naina Lal Kidwai
Naina Lal Kidwai is a Non-Executive Director on the boards of Holcim, Max Financial Services, CIPLA, Nayara Energy, Gland Pharma and UPL; is a Senior Adviser to Advent International Private Equity; and served 12 years as a Non-Executive Director on the global board of Nestlé. Ms Kidwai chairs the India Financial Services Working Group of the BRICs Business Council and is a member of the INDO - ASEAN Business Council. She is also a member of the Army Group Insurance Fund’s investment advisory council, the Harvard Business School’s South Asia Advisory Board, Standard Chartered Bank’s International Advisory Council and the Mission Board of the global EQT Future Fund.
An MBA graduate from Harvard Business School, Ms Kidwai is the recipient of several awards and honours including the Padma Shri for her contribution to Trade and industry. She is engaged with institutions in environment, water and sanitation and has authored three books including the bestsellers 30 Women in Power: Their Voices, Their Stories and Survive Or Sink: An Action Agenda for Sanitation, Water, Pollution, and Green Finance.
Ms Kidwai has been a member of the Government of India’s Industry Task Force, the Prime Minister’s Trade and Industry Council, the National Manufacturing Council, the National Trade Council, the Working Group on Banking, Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission, and the National Institute of Bank Management.
