Morgan has worked at Rothschild & Co for nine years, and is now a Director in the Utilities, Transport & Infrastructure team of our Global Advisory business in Sydney.
“After university, I started a graduate role in consulting at a different company, however I quickly realised that this wasn't something that I wanted to do long-term. I began looking for opportunities in investment banking, which is when I discovered an opening in the Utilities, Transport & Infrastructure team at Rothschild & Co, and I have been here ever since!

One of the many things that I was attracted to about working at Rothschild & Co was its global footprint, and the possibility of working outside of Australia. In 2019, I was made aware of an opening in the Energy & Power team in London, which is where I worked for the next three years. This was ideal for me given that I already had a strong interest in renewables.
There are also many highlights from my time working in London, whether they be social or related to transactions.
A lot of our work is cross-border as there is significant inbound interest from companies in other jurisdictions who are looking to invest in Australia. Many of the deals I work on are jointly staffed by colleagues in London, as well as in Hong Kong and Singapore. One way in which we're able to differentiate ourselves from our competitors is how global we are and how well we work together across geographies.
The types of transactions we advise on include raising debt and/or equity to finance projects as well as buying and selling projects or businesses. These include onshore or offshore wind farms, solar farms and battery projects.

My advice to new joiners at Rothschild & Co is to make the most of every opportunity you have to meet with experts within the firm; you never know when you or a client may benefit from knowledge they pass on.
Outside of work, I try to make the most of Sydney’s outdoor lifestyle, whether it be by running around Centennial Park or enjoying an afternoon at Bondi Beach, home to the most photographed pool in the world!"
