Science and art
As we reach the Autumn of 2019, we welcome you to this 2nd edition of Mosaique Insights. Shedding light on our latest thinking and research, in this edition we look at some of the topics which have been keeping us busy as stewards of your wealth. In a long and ageing business cycle, we start by addressing the timely issues of protecting portfolios and remaining cost aware when managing your wealth. This is all the more important as investment forecasts for 2020 become increasingly clouded. Taking a long-term view, we also unpack the debate around active vs. passive investment strategies, how we choose our active investment managers and why, in a low-yielding environment, we think it important to consider dividend investing.
Art is a human activity that expresses our imaginative, conceptual ideas or technical skills and which is intended to be appreciated by others. With this in mind we explore the combination of technical skill and human judgment displayed in our latest research into how we invest thematically. A mixture of fundamental analysis and our reading of human emotions is also a cornerstone of how we approach our broader asset allocation, as set out in more detail in our sister publication Mosaique Views.
With the days now shortening and the year winding down, we hope you find this edition both insightful and thought-provoking. As always, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
