Venture Philanthropy Investment Associate (London or Paris based)

The Rothschild & Co Group Philanthropic Foundation, R&Co4Generations, is hiring a full-time Senior Associate/VP to support the development of their Venture Philanthropy Investment Activity in Europe.
This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual who is passionate about using capital to drive social and environmental impact and keen to help us structure a recently launched activity of our corporate foundation.
Location: Candidate can be based in France, Belgium or the UK. Hybrid role with requirement to travel on a regular basis to Paris.

Duration: Full-time position
Experience required: a minimum of 5 years of professional experience including at least 3 years in the impact investment field within our target markets (Europe).

Responsibilities
Produce thematic research to identify most relevant impact investment themes
Regularly produce research reports and presentations to update the team on investment opportunities
Screening and evaluating investment opportunities against established investment thesis
Researching the sectors in which our potential targets operate
Leading due diligence process in collaboration with a dedicated investment team
Preparing investment memos
Presenting investment opportunities to the foundation management, board and investment committee.
Assisting with deal execution work streams
Contributing to monitoring of existing portfolio companies
Hard Skills required
Financial Analysis and Modeling, including experience with equity transactions and ability to assess financial viability, risk return profiles
Expertise in developing and implementing impact frameworks and methodologies for assessing social and environmental impact
Portfolio management skills including monitoring performance and risk assessment
Ability to conduct in-depth market and sectors research to inform investment decisions
Strong skills in Microsoft office (Excel/ PowerPoint) and Data analysis
Fluent French and English
Soft Skills required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build effective and long-term relationships between individuals, teams, lines of business and across geographical / cultural boundaries
Proactive, analytical and detail-oriented approach to solving problems in dynamic and fast paced environments
